The workers were both transported to an area hospital and were said to be in stable condition. It is not known if they had received adequate safety training for the work they were doing.
The men were working on the New Jersey Turnpike Project. It is not known what part of the project involves the Garden State Parkway where the incident occurred. The downed power lines were removed and the road was allowed to reopen. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
