Woman Ejected From Vehicle After Being Struck by a Big Rig
A recent truck accident in New Jersey is responsible for seriously injuring a woman. The big rig is said to have rear-ended the victim’s vehicle, causing her to be ejected from her van. Her current condition is unknown.
This accident reportedly occurred in Union on the morning of Friday, April 8. For reasons unknown, the driver of a tractor trailer — a 44-year-old male — apparently struck the back end of a van on Route 78. The driver of the van — a 26-year-old woman — was taken to University Hospital in Newark for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The crash caused quite a few delays. Police and rescue teams were on scene for some time assisting the injured, investigating the incident and cleaning up debris. At this time, authorities have not released any further information regarding the cause of this accident.
The injuries suffered in an accident with a big rig can be rather severe and can affect a person for the rest of his or her life. In this case, the victim is not only left suffering physically, but has likely taken hits to her financial and emotional well-being. She may be able to recoup her losses and seek compensation for future suffering by filing legal claims against the driver and his employer in a New Jersey civil court. If litigation is successful and negligence proved to the satisfaction of the court, the victim may be awarded a monetary judgment for any and all recoverable damages.
