Truck Accident Claims the Life of New Jersey Man
Though tractor-trailers are a necessity in transporting cargo long distances, their size and the heavy loads they typically carry can be dangerous when the trucks are involved in collisions. Unfortunately, these types of collisions often result in fatalities. A truck accident recently led to the death of New Jersey man.
Reports indicate that the truck was hauling trash from a construction site when the accident occurred. Investigators believe that the driver of the truck veered off the road, hitting a curb. This led to the truck going up a dirt embankment and overturning. When the truck overturned, it landed on the two cars in the lane beside it, crushing them both.
A driver of one of the cars was trapped in his vehicle. Several witnesses stopped to help the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car and the truck driver both suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The family of the deceased victim may consider filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the truck driver. If their claim successfully proves negligence on the part of the truck driver, they could receive monetary damages to help pay for funeral costs and any other expenses related to the truck accident. Similarly, the victim who was injured may be able to file a personal injury claim. Any New Jersey residents who have lost loved ones or have been injured in motor vehicle collisions could consult experienced personal injury attorneys to obtain more information about filing these types of claims.
