New Jersey Man Killed in Garbage Truck Accident
At the beginning of February, a New Jersey man was struck by a garbage truck in Bayonne. Sadly, the victim did not survive. When a truck accident results in injury or death, police will work diligently to determine the cause of the crash and liability. According to reports, at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 3, a man — whose age and name have not been released to the public — was struck by a garbage truck. The truck driver is said to have been traveling southbound on Avenue C when he hit the man while between West 54th and 55th streets. It is unknown if the victim died at the scene of the crash or if he was transported to medical care before succumbing to his injuries.
The area where the accident occurred was closed for some time while investigators and clean up crews worked the scene. At this time, it has not been reported if any charges are pending in this case. Few other details have been released about this incident.
