New Jersey Man Killed in Car Accident With Several Vehicles
Automobile collisions are an unfortunate reality in the lives of New Jersey residents and those across the country. Whatever the cause of a car accident, there is always a potential for injury or even death for those involved. Tragically, one man was killed in a recent crash involving three vehicles.
Officials said that the victim was traveling northbound on Route 202 when his vehicle was rear-ended by a truck. The force of the impact pushed the victim’s car into a third vehicle, though no damage to that vehicle occurred. Police believe the cause of the crash was due to the truck driver being intoxicated.
The victim was transported to the hospital following the collision but was later pronounced dead. No one else was injured in the accident. The truck driver believed to be responsible has since been charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and reckless driving. He is now being held at a county jail until his detention hearing.
When a person dies in a car accident, his or her family may face not only an emotional burden, but a financial one as well. To help cope with this, victims’ surviving families may choose to file wrongful death claims in civil court against any party or parties believed to be responsible. When the claims successfully prove negligence, claimants may then be awarded monetary damages that can be used to help pay for medical bills, funeral costs or any other related expenses. Anyone who wants to learn more about this type of claim could consult an experienced New Jersey personal injury attorney for information and assistance.
