Drugs May Have Caused a Recent Car Crash
Car accidents are all too frequent occurrences in New Jersey. The causes are many and a recent fatal car crash is believed to have been caused by a near fatal drug overdose. The accident happened on a recent morning on Route 23 and New York Avenue in Wayne.
The driver of a Honda Pilot reportedly suffered a drug overdose and lost control of his vehicle. He collided with another car that was driven by a man traveling with his son. One vehicle reportedly rolled and looked like it caught fire. That vehicle ended up coming to rest in a gas station after hitting and killing a gas station attendant.
The father and son were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who may have caused the accident was revived with a dose of narcan and was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center. His condition was unknown but he is expected to survive. The accident is being investigated by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Loss of life due to a traffic accident in New Jersey is a tragedy that causes grief and pain to the loved ones left behind. Their first priority following such a tragedy is the care and comfort of the remaining family. There is nothing that anyone can do to undo a fatal car crash and no one can take the place of those who died. Nevertheless, a lawyer is a valuable ally in these circumstances and can help determine the potentially liable parties for inclusion in a wrongful death claim. A successful claim can provide compensation for medical costs, final costs and other documented losses.
