Construction Worker Suffers Work Injury on Site
Many workers in New Jersey make a living in the construction industry. While this type of work can lead to success, it can also be quite dangerous at times. One common type of work injury seen in construction work is related to falls. One such accident recently caused injury to a worker in a nearby state.
Authorities stated that the man was assisting in work being done on the roof of a home. Reports indicate that emergency services were called because the man fell off the roof, though police said that the man fell from a second-floor landing. In either case, it appears that he lost his balance and fell to the ground below.
Though the worker suffered injuries in his fall, they do not appear to be life threatening. Following the accident, he was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The local branch of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently investigating the incident in a likely attempt at preventing such accidents in the future.
Construction workers who are facing similar situations may find themselves struggling not only from their injuries but from financial strain as well. Anyone who has suffered a work injury could consult an experienced New Jersey workers’ compensation attorney to learn more about filing such a claim. When these claims are successful, the injured party is typically awarded monetary damages that can help pay for medical bills and make up for lost wages the claimant may face over the course of his or her recovery.
