Congested Traffic Has Caused Many a Car Accident
Few people will dispute the fact that New Jersey traffic is dense and very congested. While defensive driving can protect one in many situations, in instances of rush hour maneuvering and distracted drivers, a car accident may not be avoidable. One such accident took the life of two people in recent morning rush hour accident.
The two people were passengers in a ride-sharing car on Route 9 at about 6 a.m. when the accident occurred. The ride-sharing vehicle was rear-ended by an SUV and pushed into another vehicle in the next lane. That driver and a person in the SUV were injured.
A car changing lanes in front of the SUV may have contributed to the cause of the accident. After the car changed lanes the SUV was unable to avoid hitting the ride-share vehicle. Two passengers of that vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the other two people who were injured was not known. That portion of the highway was closed for about five hours following the crash.
Being stuck in traffic in New Jersey can be frustrating and drivers can make mistakes in an attempt to get through congested traffic. Making use of ride-sharing services in an effort to reduce congestion and decrease the chance of a car accident is a wonderful idea that sadly can still end in tragedy. The sudden death of a loved one due to an accident can be hard to accept. Nothing can undo the accident but a civil lawsuit against the party or parties deemed responsible may provide compensation for medical costs, final costs and other verifiable losses.
