Box Truck Hits DOC Vehicle in New Jersey

When trucks are involved in accidents, a number of questions arise. Was the driver properly trained and adequately rested? Was there a fault with the truck that made it difficult to control? Was the driver simply negligent, or even intoxicated? Or was the truck accident simply the result of bad weather or poor driving conditions? One such incident occurred in Trenton when a box truck crashed into a Department of Corrections vehicle. Trenton police responded to the call at around 11 a.m. on a Friday morning. They were accompanied by sheriff’s officers along with fire and first aid workers. 

No information was released at the time about the state of the drivers after the incident. However, the DOC vehicle’s driver was transported to Trenton’s Capital Health Regional Medical Center. It was also confirmed that the vehicle was not carrying any inmates at the time of the accident.

The vehicles involved came to a stop on the curb, where they had crashed into a traffic light stanchion. The light was knocked over and authorities had to close the road while they investigated the scene. The closure caused traffic jams for several hours on Route 29.
