3 Dead, 2 Injured in New Jersey Car Crash
A tragic car accident in New Jersey has left three people dead and two others injured. This car crash reportedly occurred in Old Bridge on March 15. The driver believed responsible for the wreck is among the deceased.
According to reports, a 45-year-old male was driving his SUV southbound on Route 9 when, for reasons unknown, his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a sedan in the northbound lane. The driver of the SUV died at the scene of the crash, as did the driver — a 37-year-old woman — and one of the passengers in the sedan. Two other passengers were rescued from the car and transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries and their current conditions are unknown.
This accident caused authorities to shut down this particular section of Route 9 for several hours while investigators, rescue teams and clean up crews worked the scene. Police have shared few details about the cause of this crash. Why the driver of the SUV crossed into the northbound lanes is still unknown.
Even though the driver deemed responsible for this car crash did not survive, the family members of the deceased individuals and the surviving victims may still have legal recourse. Legal claims may be filed against the estate of this gentleman in an effort to seek compensation for any losses sustained. While cases of this nature can be difficult to get through, if negligence can be proved, a New Jersey civil court may award monetary judgments in cases which are successfully litigated.
