New Jersey Man Killed in Recent Car Accident
Car crashes are an unfortunate reality in the lives of many people in New Jersey and across the country. When a loved one is killed in a car accident, the surviving family may decide to consult an attorney to determine how to proceed after such a tragedy. One family may be looking into their legal options after a man was killed in a recent accident.
According to New Jersey police, the collision occurred on a local highway late in the afternoon of July 27. The victim’s car was struck by another driver in a sports utility vehicle. The northbound side of the highway was closed for several hours while police investigated. Further details of the crash have not been released.
Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported from the driver of the SUV. Police indicated that the SUV stayed on the scene while officers conducted their investigation. It is unknown whether charges will be filed against the driver believed to be at fault.
The emotional and financial burden of losing a loved one in such a way is always difficult. In situations like this, the family of a deceased victim may choose to file a wrongful death claim in civil court against the driver believed to be responsible for the crash. If the claim successfully proves that driver negligent, the family could receive monetary damages that could help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and any other expenses related to the incident. Anyone who has lost a loved one in a car accident could contact an experienced New Jersey personal injury attorney for more information about this type of claim.
